Vempatis remarks on Twitter came after media reports, quoting sources, mentioned dropping of two key proposals of the information and broadcasting ministry, including appointment of an IAS officer as the Member (Personnel) on Prasar Bharati.
Another proposal which was dropped, according to sources, pertained to the appointment of two senior journalists as head of Doordarshan News and Chief Editor of Prasar Bharati News Service (AIR).
These are based on a false account of proceedings and fictitious version of minutes, neither drafted nor approved. Editorial Boards of these outlets are advised to retract these false reports, Vempati said in a tweet.
