"The (North Goa) District Magistrate has passed order under section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) for strict compliance by all the owners of houses, buildings, flats and other residential accommodation and the owners of all hotels, lodges, private guest houses, paying guest accommodation of religious bodies," the order said.
"They have been asked to verify bonafides of the persons through their identity proof such as election card, driving licence, smart card, passport and others, and fill the tenant verification form before they are allowed to reside," it said.
The order that comes into force from today would be effective till April 5, unless withdrawn earlier.
