Resul Pookutty, Sachin-Jigar to work on 'Chhota Bheem the Musical'

Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty and music director duo Sachin-Jigar will be working on the "Chhota Bheem the Musical" stage show.

The show is based on country's one of the most popular and loved superhero for children 'Chhota Bheem' and his friends from 'Dholakpur'.

Venture One Innovations (Venture One) are the producing and creating the show, which is being developed as a Broadway-styled musical. The show will be presented in different parts of the country.

"We are excited about being a part of this stage musical based on the most loved superhero of India, 'Chhota Bheem'. Along with Venture One, we are hooked to the idea of a Live Show of this scale. The music is going to be fun, catchy, full of energy just like Chhota Bheem," the music director duo said in a statement.

The musical has been scripted by "Happy New Year" writers Ulka and Mayur Puri.

"I'm extremely delighted to work with Green Gold and Venture One to bring Chhota Bheem Live on stage. There are very few projects that make me happy in all three capacities, as a screenwriter, songwriter, and as a parent.

"My kids love 'Chhota Bheem' and working on this project with my wife Ulka as co-writer, has brought us closer as a family. Now, it's up to us to translate that joy and seed it in every single viewer," said Mayur.

Pushan Kripalani has been roped in for the show direction. Scenic production will be done by Tony Award winner Derek Mclane while Guillaume Duflot will be doing the supervising direction. Longinus Fernandes will be choreographing the songs.
