Retired armyman assaulted

A retired armyman was allegedly
assaulted by five persons near Awagarh police circle here, police said.
The accused, who are said to have an enmity with with Ram Naresh, a resident of Nagla village near Eka district in Firozabad, allegedly assaulted him yesterday, they said.
The victim was standing at the crossing of Awagarh town when the accused tried to loot his licensed gun. When their attempts failed, they hurled stones, injuring the man, police said.
