According to police officials, the incident came to light when some pilgrims performing 'parikrama' of the Goverdhan hillock, saw a dead body floating in the Kusum Sarovar pond.
"My father said that he was going to get some medicine, but did not return" Mahesh, the younger son of deceased Khem Chand Mittal, said.
Mittal was a retired Kanungo.
The police said that a suicide note was found in a bag near the pond and it is being looked into.
