The retrospective will screen nine films of the late filmmaker, who passed away on May 30 at his South Kolkata residence this year.
Ghosh's colleagues from the Bengali film industry including Rituparna Sengupta, Raima Sen, Kaushik Ganguly, Ravi Sharma and brother Indronil Ghosh today paid a floral tribute to the multiple-award winning filmmaker at the Siri Fort Auditorium before commencing the film extravaganza.
Sengupta, who worked with Ghosh in "Dahan" (1997), said he introduced him to the world of non-commercial films.
For actress Raima, Ghosh was like his mentor and a father figure. The duo had worked together in "Just Another Love Story", "Noukadubi", "Memories of March" and "Chokher Bali".
"We shared a father-daughter relationship and he had given me a career in films. I remember, he never watched his own works but was always ready to guide others," she said.
Ganguly said it was a tough journey for him from Kolkata to Delhi as it gave him the memories of his previous one which he did with Ghosh during National Film Awards.
"Last time I came here with Rituda (Rituparno Ghosh). When I met him next in Kolkata he was dead. He ruled our Indian film with his grace and we will always remember him as long as our camera rolls," he said.
Other movies that will be screened include "Dahan", "Unishey April", "Just Another Love Story", "Noukadubi", "Memories in March", "The Last Lear", "Bariwali" and "Raincoat".
