Ridley Scott in talks to direct 'The Martian'
Simon Kinberg has come aboard as a producer alongside his executive Aditya Sood through Kinberg's Genre Films banner, reported Variety.
Fox executive Steve Asbell will oversee the project for the studio.
The story is a science fiction thriller about an astronaut who gets stranded on Mars and must figure out how to stay alive long enough to get back home.
Scott is currently in post-production on his Moses film 'Gods and Kings' and Damon can be seen next in 'Interstellar'.
