Marriage may not be on the cards for Asha Negi and her longtime boyfriend Rithvik Dhanjani but the TV actress says they are planning to get engaged by 2017.
The couple, who began dating five years ago while shooting for Ekta Kapoor's serial "Pavitra Rishta", have been hounded by the marriage questions by media and fans from some time now.
When asked if there are indeed any plans of walking down the aisle, Asha told PTI, "I think we are very happy in the space that we are in currently. We are enjoying this phase and want it to continue for some more time... I think marriage will happen two-three years later but we might get get engaged next year."
The 26-year-old actress said right now their careers are the main focus, especially Rithvik's as he is planning a full-fledged Bollywood career. Rithvik was seen in a supporting character in a 2011 forgettable film "Jo Hum Chahein".
Heaping praise on her beau's hardwork and dedication towards his work, Asha said, "He is very ambitious and passionate about films. He is planning a career in films and his whole attention is there. It feels great to see him so dedicated towards his work.
"I am not as ambitious as him. I hope he gets all the success like Sushant (Singh Rajput) is getting."
Interestingly, Sushant also starred on "Pavitra Rishta" before leaving TV to pursue his Bollywood dreams.
The actor got recognition with his first film "Kai Po Che" and later with "Shuddh Desi Romance" and is now set for "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story", a biopic of Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Meanwhile, on her own career front, Asha is taking it slow as she is not getting anything interesting.
"I am more inclined towards finite series than the saas-bahu dramas but I am not getting anything great... I really hope something like '24' comes up, I will readily take up."
The actress was seen hosting "Indian Idol Junior" last year.
When asked about returning for the next season of the reality singing competition series, Asha said, "I loved being on the show. It was great fun interacting with the kids. I still have a kid inside me so I get along with children really well. I hope makers consider me again.
