Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) activists staged a demonstration in protest against the Centre's move to evict party President Ajit Singh from his official residence in Delhi, at Khatoli town in the district.
In the protest held last evening, the party workers also demonstrated against the Centre's refusal to convert the residence into a memorial for former Prime Minister Charan Singh.
A meromendum was also sent to UP Governor demanding declaration of the residence as a memorial for Charan Singh.
Several party leaders including district Vice-President Dharmendra Tomour and Ajay Bharduaj and Vikas Balyan, took part in the protest and burnt effigies of Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu.
