Addressing his first rally after the announcement of elections in Jat-dominated Narangpur village in Amroha district today, Singh called the Muzaffarnagar violence a political conspiracy, and said the violence in urban areas is easy to control, but not the ones in rural areas.
He criticised the SP for not maintaining law and order and said it was well maintained during the time of his father and former UP Chief Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh.
Referring to the achievements of UPA government, the RLD chief said OBC reservation in central government jobs for Jats was a historical achievement.
On the proposed Harit Pradesh state, which is to be carved out of Uttar Pradesh, Singh said if he comes to power, it will be his first priority to create the state and develop it like Haryana and Uttarakhand.
RLD MP and Singh's son Jayant Chaudhary and other senior leaders were present at the rally.
