With a view to popularise the train journey with good old memory, railways has asked the common people to to share their memories and experiences on the train ride on social media.
We want the common man to share their stories with the Railways with the hashtag #MyTrainStory on all social media channels in the form of videos, stories and pictures, said a senior Railway Ministry official.
Railways serve approximately 23 million passengers every day which essentially means 23 million individual stories running on Indian Railway daily.
Railways and journey associated with it are an important part of common people's lives and are connected with many personal memories and major life events.
According to the official, someone might be leaving home for the first time for education while some might have also met his/her spouse in a train journey or for that matter, someone else might be a daily passenger who has been using the Railways to commute daily since many years.
He said one can also mail his train story to mytrainstory@gmail.Com. Select stories will be shared on our social media platforms and will also be published in Rail Bandhu magazine.
This will be a year long campaign wherein select stories will be given monthly e-certificates and on quarterly basis, the best three would get a chance to meet Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.
