Different unions of Haryana Roadways today announced to resume their protest against state government's alleged failure to fulfil assurance given to the employees recently.
All Haryana Roadways Workers Joint Action Committee President Dalbir Kirmara said they will 'gherao' transport minister Krishan Lal Panwar's residence here on December 9.
The decision was taken at emergent meeting of the employees.
Besides, the employees of all 24 depots of Haryana Roadways will hold gate rallies and meetings in front of their depots on December 8.
Kirmara lashed out at the government for allegedly backtracking from it's assurance to employees on their demands on August 31 last.
He said that the government had backtracked from its assurances, including putting contractual employees recruited between 2003 to 2014 on regular basis, make fresh recruitments for workshops, give promotions on time, provide bonus of Rs 5000 annually and increasing its subsequently every year and scrap the 2013 transport policy of the government.
"Thus, the employees are left with no other option, but to resort to agitations again," Kirmara said.
He said that it came to his knowledge that few depots carried public for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally at Sonipat today.
"This is unfortunate that the government is using public transport for the PM's rally," he said, while deploring the alleged move by the transport department.
Previously, the roadways employees had gone on strikes putting the commuters to lot of inconvenience.
Dalbir said the employees are planning to hold a 'Chakka Jam' across the state. The decision for the same will be taken after December 9.
