The staff of a businessman travelling in a vehicle and carrying around Rs one crore were stopped by robbers, one of them in police uniform on the pretext of checking and providing security on Minto Road last evening, they said.
They entered the vehicle and later threw the staff from the vehicle on Geeta colony flyover.
A case has been registered at Kamla market police station on the complaint of one of the staff members of the businessman and further investigation is on, they said.
The victim Samir Mehta has a textile business in Raigarpura while he lives with his family at Ghantaghar locality. He was on his shop at around 10 pm when two youth posing as customers came in. Their two accomplices also joined them, said a police officer.
