The company, which supplies parts to the likes of Hero MotoCorp backed Ather Energy, is seeking to tap on growth of electric vehicles (EVs) in India where two-wheelers segment is expected to play a major role.
It has introduced in the Indian market a new power supply integrated circuit which is based on its Nano Pulse Control Technology that is required for 48V automotive systems, including mild hybrid vehicles.
"Out of our total business in India, 60 per cent comes from the automotive business and out of that 80 per cent comes from two-wheelers, where our focus is on with our new product," ROHM Semiconductor India Managing Director Daisuke Nakamura said here.
"At present, EV market in India is at a very nascent stage. It is expected to grow but major traction will come from the two-wheeler segment, where customisation to suit local requirements will accelerate the growth," he added.
Victor said ROHM's new Nano Pusle Control Technology based integrated circuit is suitable for 48V automotive systems, which is mostly being used by pure electric two- wheelers, besides mild hybrid vehicles.
