Rolta India shares soar 20 pc; hit upper circuit

Shares of Rolta India surged almost 20 per cent today after the IT company reported 91 per cent jump in net profit for the second quarter of 2016-17.
On Friday, Rolta had posted 91.33 per cent jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 54.3 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2016. It had posted a net profit of Rs 28.38 crore in the same period a year ago.
At close, the stock of the company was quoted at Rs 65.55 -- its upper circuit limit -- up 19.95 per cent on BSE.
Following the uptick in the counter, the market capitalisation of the company rose by Rs 178.66 crore to Rs 1,071.11 crore.
On the NSE, the stock surged by 20 per cent and settled at its upper price limit of Rs 65.40.
Overall, the BSE Sensex closed at 26,515.24 points, down 0.87 per cent from the previous close.
