RPF Sub-Inspector caught accepting Rs 2,000 bribe

The CBI has arrested a Railway Protection Force (RPF) Sub-Inspector here for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a person.
A case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, against the Sub-Inspector posted under the jurisdiction of Central Railway, Pune, the premier investigation agency said today.
According to a complaint against him, the officer demanded a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a complainant to allow him to carry his business in Railway.
The person lodged a complaint with the CBI, which laid a trap and caught the Sub-Inspector while accepting the bribe amount, the Central agency said.
Searches were conducted at the office and residential premises of the accused at Pune which led to recovery of documents relating to property and two bank accounts belonging to him, it added.
