Rs 15 lakh looted from toll gate employees

Three motor-cycle borne miscreants snatched Rs 15 lakh from toll gate employees after throwing chilly powder in their eyes in Jajpur district, the police said today.
Accounts officer Ram Babu and toll officer Suri Babu of the toll plaza at Srirampur on NH-5A were going to a local bank branch when three bike-borne youths intercepted their four wheeler, threw chilly powder in their eyes before snatching the bag containing cash yesterday.
One of the miscreants broke the window of the car with a sharp edged weapon and unlocked its front door from inside after injuring the account officer who was sitting in the front seat of the vehicle with the bag, the police said.

When the officer put up resistance, the miscreants threw chilly powder to him, snatched the bag and fled.
One of the employees sustained minor injuries in the hand.
