The nine-day tournament is being organised by Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), a local development agency.
Indian challenge will be led by GM Deepan Chakkravarthy (rating 2521), GM Abhijeet Kunte (2519), GM R R Laxman, Sahej Grower (2514 each), WGM Swati Ghate, WGM Nisha Mohta and WGM Kiran Manisha Mohanty, among others, Praveen Darade, NIT Chairman, told a press conference here today.
The tournament would be played as per FIDE laws of chess and Swiss Fide system, he said.
The five foreign players among 17 invited who have confirmed their participation are Kravtsiv Martin (Ukraine & rating 2582), Andriy Vovk (Ukraine-2549), Kirill Stupak (Belarus-2523), Daniil Linchevskiy (Russia-2558) and Ziaur Rehman (Bangladesh-2516), Darade added.
