"I am hopeful the Planning Commission will approve the proposal for our plan size at Rs. 34,000 crores for next fiscal," Kumar told reporters on the sidelines of a function to mark the 116th birth anniversary of Subash Chandra Bose.
If approved, Bihar's plan size will rise by over 21 per cent in the next fiscal compared to Rs 28,000 crore plan size in the current fiscal.
Kumar said the limited financial resources in Bihar was hindering its economic development and keeping this in view its plan size should be higher than what has been proposed.
However, the centre was yet to decide on quantum of increase in the special assistance to Bihar, he said and demanded an additional central assistance of Rs 4,000 crore annually in the next plan.
