A total of Rs 4,596 crore has been allotted as arrears under post matric scholarship for SC students in 2016-17, the Rajya Sabha was told today.
A central assistance of over Rs 1.44 lakh was released in 2018-19 under the scheme, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Vijay Sampla said in a written reply.
On whether the government has received any complaints of misutilisation under the scheme, Sampla said such complaints, if any, are forwarded to state governments for action.
He also said there were 58.6 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme in 2016-17.
