Rs. 7 lakh looted from a rural bank

Armed miscreants today looted Rs. 7.08 lakh from Madhopur branch of the Grameen Bank after taking its employees hostage in Bihar's Jamui district, a police officer said.
The incident took place under Chandramandi police station area as four motorcycle-borne miscreants barged into the bank and held its manager, cashier and other employees hostage in a room at gun point before looting the cash, Chandramandi police station in-charge Ajit Kumar Singh said.
After the miscreants escaped with the booty, the bank manager called the local police to inform about the incident, he said.
A probe was on in and the bank employees were being interrogated to find out involvement of any of them behind the incident.
An FIR will be lodged after completion of probe, Singh said.
