Addressing an event to commemorate Constitution Day here, RSS national executive member Indresh Kumar pitched for greater unity among Brahmins, Dalits, Kshatriyas and other communities.
"Lakhs of years ago, Valmiki who belonged to scheduled caste community wrote Ramayana. Thousands of years ago, Vyasa, who too belonged to scheduled caste community, came up with Bhagvad Gita.
"When India became independent, Dr Ambedkar (Dalit icon) was the architect of the Constitution. Now, if someone says, untouchability is still prevailing in the country as we follow the Constitution ... There cannot be a bigger useless person than the person saying so," Kumar said.
Kumar insisted on taking efforts to make India a violence, corruption, pollution and filth-free country.
"Only then, we would have realised the Constitution," he said.
Kumar also lauded the present NDA government, saying that it understood the importance of and started celebrating the Constitution Day.
Meanwhile, the leader lashed out at former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah for his reported remarks that Pakistan occupied Kashmir was not India's property, saying "Abdullah should keep it in mind that prior to 1947, Pakistan was India's property. It was Hindustan prior to 1947 and Pakistan was its property," Kumar said.
