Rs 50 lakh in demonetised currency notes seized from man in

Around Rs 50 lakh in demonetised currency notes were today seized from a Chennai-based man, railway police officials said.
"The money was seized from one Mati Alagan (47) at the Rajahmhandravaram main Railway station at around 11 AM. We found the notes in his bag," Deputy Superintendent of Police K Lakshminarayana said.
The seized amount has been handed over to the income tax department, said the official.
On November 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced his government's decision to demonetise Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes.
