Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) chief Simranjit Singh Mann today appealed to all the "anti-Hindutava" parties to come together to defeat extremism and also to rid Punjab of the drug mafia.
Mann told reporters here that though his party was wedded to Khalistan's (separate Sikh home land) ideology, it has now decided to throw open its doors even to those who did not believe in Khalistan.
He claimed that he had resorted to this kind of social engineering for uniting different political groups on one platform for defeating forces of Hindutava in the country and to end hegemony of Badal family in Punjab.
"These political parties, including even activists of SAD, 'sehajdharis' and progressive Hindus, can join us in our fight against Hindutava and Badal family misrule," he said.
The former MP demanded fresh SGPC polls for ridding its 'golak' (offering amount) from the control of Badal family, which, he alleged, was using it for their own benefit.
