Congress today demanded all elected representatives of the ruling SAD-BJP combine should resign before enforcing the new property tax for regularising illegal colonies and settlements in the state.
This new law is totally unethical as residents of these illegal colonies have been issued voter identity cards, adhar cards and other documents said secretary, Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee (PPCC) Gurjit Singh Aujala.
Accusing the SAD-BJP coalition for pushing Punjab to a sorry state of economy, Aujala said most residents of the targeted colonies are living below poverty line and were not expected to pay huge taxes and fees for getting approvals for their dwellings.
