Salem division seeks Rs 20 crore for carrying out works

Salem Division has sought Rs 20 crore from the Railway Ministry for carrying out development works at railway stations in the Division, Salem Divisional Railway Manager Shubranshu today said.
Asked about frequent demonstrations by passengers at Erode Railway station over water scarcity in the bogies he said: "We are getting water from Erode Municipal Corporation. If they provide good water supply we will fill it to all trains crossing Erode. Now we are getting poor water supply from the Municipal Corporation, so we are not responsible for the water scarcity."
He said the repair works at the second platform of Erode Railway junction would be completed soon and trains would be operated.
