Software services major Salesforce today said it plans to add over 1,000 jobs in Hyderabad by 2020 to tap into the highly skilled technology talent in the region.
The company has also set up a new Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad as part of its expansion plans in India.
"Salesforce plans to expand team of enterprise software engineers as well as customer success representatives in Hyderabad, establishing one of its largest engineering and customer success centres globally," Salesforce said in a statement.
Salesforce will begin moving into the new CoE by the end of 2016, it added.
This will be one of Salesforce's largest global offices outside of its San Francisco headquarters.
Plans for the new building include modern workplace designs that focus on employee wellness with dedicated spaces for collaboration, mindfulness and social activities, it said.
"We are thrilled to be expanding our presence and deepening our commitment to India, home to some of the best technology talent in the world," Salesforce co-founder Parker Harris said.
Salesforce Hyderabad will provide a centre of excellence in the region and play a crucial role in growing Salesforce's technology and product teams, as well as its customer success organisation to meet the needs of customers worldwide, he added.
As the enterprise cloud computing leader with over 1.5 lakh customers worldwide, Salesforce will strengthen the thriving local tech ecosystem and further draw investments into the state, Telangana Secretary IT Jayesh Ranjan said.
India continues to be a growing region for cloud computing with Gartner projecting the public cloud services market in India growing 30.4 per cent in 2016 to total USD 1.26 billion.
Salesforce has seen tremendous growth with clients like Bajaj Finserv, Paytm, Snapdeal, Inmobi and Urban Ladder using its solutions.
