Shajahan (22) was arrested following a complaint by a woman who spotted the mobile camera allegedly pointing towards the trial room at the textile outlet in the popular mall in Vyttila last night, police said.
The woman, who had come with her husband, was suspicious about the act of the salesman after he allegedly sought time from her to clear the mess in the trial room where she was supposed to try on some garments, police said.
She immediately informed the manager and lodged a complaint with Palarivattom police station in the city.
Based on her complaint, Shajahan was taken into custody today, police said.
They suspect that the youth, who joined the textile showroom a week ago, had installed the camera while he was clearing the alleged mess in the trial room.
He was produced before a local court here which remanded him to judicial custody, police added.
