The actress will star alongside Jesse Eisenberg and Alexander Skarsgard in Kim Nguyen's high-speed drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Written by Nguyen, "The Hummingbird Project" will see Eisenberg and Skarsgard play cousins who inhabit the high- stakes world of high-frequency trading and hatch a multimillion-dollar plan that involves plenty of danger if they fail. Hayek will play their nemesis, their brilliant but ruthless former boss.
The film is being produced by Pierre Even of Item 7 and Belgian Belga Films.
Production is set to commence in October 2017 in Montreal.
