Samir Sinha appointed Field Director of Corbett Tiger Reserve

Chief Conservator of Forest Samir Sinha has been appointed as the new Field Director of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, official sources said here today.
An Uttarakhand cadre Indian Forest Service officer, Sinha has held several key posts in the forest department.
Sinha will take over the charge from Ranjan Mishra who has been transferred as Conservator of Forest, Yamuna Circle.
Mishra had a three and a half year term full of challenges as CTR Field Director. Soon after he took charge of CTR in 2010, a tiger had to be declared a man eater and shot dead in the reserve area.

Sinha was earlier Director of Rajaji National Park and also Deputy Director of CTR, Ramnagar.
