The sanctum sanctorum of Kerala's ancient Lord Shiva temple of Ettumanoor near here will get a facelift soon.
The Travancore Devaswam Board (TDB), which administers the temple, has given nod to a proposal to cover many parts of the Sreekovil including, its doors with "odu"- an alloy of tin, copper and bronze, temple officials said here Sunday.
Besides doors of the Sreekovil, the Panchavargathara, mukhamandapam would also be covered with "odu", they said.
Currently these are covered with brass.
The beautification of the sanctum sanctorum is being done as an offering by an NRI industrialist, a devotee of Lord Ettumanoorappan, they noted.
The beautification works are expected to be completed by the end of July, the officials added.
