Sandalwood trees found axed
Some people had felled a 10-year-old tree along the walking track in Race Course in the early hours of today.
However, they were not able to smuggle it out as security guards of a Star hotel raised an alarm following which the gang fled from the area, police said.
Meanwhile, the same group had made an attempt to axe another tree just a few metres from the first site, which, police said, could have occurred around 3 AM.
