'Santa Barbara' star Dane Witherspoon dies at 56

Dane Witherspoon, who co-starred with his former wife Robin Wright in hit soap opera 'Santa Barbara', has passed away at the age of 56.
The actor died on March 29. The cause of death has not been released yet, reported People magazine.
His 'Santa Barbara' co-star A Martinez announced his death in a message posted on his Facebook page.
"Dane passed this morning. People who watched Santa Barbara in its earliest days will remember him as Joe Perkins, a character to which he brought a quiet grace and deep, bittersweet sense of soul," Martinez wrote.
Wright, who was married to Witherspoon from 1986 until their divorce two years later, is now engaged to Ben Foster.
