A Pakistani national was today executed in Saudi Arabia's Mecca region for smuggling a quantity of narcotic heroin, the Saudi Interior Ministry said.
The ministry said that a court convicted Fadhal Hadi Qinus and the sentence was endorsed by Appeal and Supreme Courts, state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
A royal order was issued to execute the sentence, it added.
The ministry warned that anyone who tries to commit such actions will be punished according to Sharia.
The Gulf Kingdom is keen on combating narcotics due to their high harm to individuals and the society, the ministry added.
