"We demand that the 17th Constitutional amendment for reservation in promotion in government services for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe community in the ongoing winter session of the Parliament," said Ashok Kumar, National Secretary of All India SC/ST Employees Association.
"We also demand reservation for SC and ST candidates in judicial services as well as the private sector," he added.
Looking to build on the momentum of the Dalit protests in Gujarat, scheduled caste organisations will also hold a mega rally at Delhi's Ramlila grounds later this week.
