Traffic was today thrown out of gear after scattered rains led to water-logging in many areas of the national capital.
The Safdarjung observatory recorded 11.4 mm of rains while Lodhi Road and Ridge received 22 mm and 3.2 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm. Areas under Palam and Ayanagar recorded 'nil' rainfall during the period, the MeT department said.
Traffic was affected due to water logging in several parts of the city including ITO, Laxmi Nagar, Kashmere Gate, South Extension, Aashram Chowk, Mahipalpur, Moolchand Underpass, Nehru Place and Dhaula Kuan.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average while the minimum temperature settled at 26.4 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year.
Sultry conditions caused discomfort to people as humidity levels oscillated between 67 and 95 per cent.
"The skies will be generally cloudy. Rain or thunder shower would occur at many places. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 33 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively," the MeT forecast said.
Yesterday, maximum temperature was registered at 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature had settled at 25.5 degrees Celsius.
