Schneider Electric, a specialist in energy management and automation, plans to enter 250 tier-II and III cities across the country to strengthen its market share in the retail segment, a top company official said.
"Our focus will be on retail segment. We will expand our network and work on making our product more visible by conducting forums and seminars," Schneider Electric India, Vice-President, National Sales, S Nagarajan told PTI here.
Schneider Electric has less than 5 per cent market share in the retail segment and pegs to raise it to over 20 per cent in the next three years, he said.
India is home to 23 factories of Schneider Electric, manufacturing products across various segments, he noted.
"Though we are market leaders, our market share in the retail segment is less than 5 per cent, which is the reason for expansion," he said, adding, the company will be entering 250 cities over the next 2 to 3 years.
Elaborating further, Nagarajan said the company, which currently has its presence in major metros, would focus on tier-II and -III locations under the expansion plans.
On the dealership network, he said the company presently has 700 dealers across India and it would be widened to 2,000 over the next three years.
Nagarajan along with Schneider Electric, Director, Final Distribution and Wiring Devices Business, Srinivas Shanbhogue were here to launch Easy9 - a new range of MCBs (Miniature Circuit Breaker), RCCBs (Residual Current Circuit Breakers) and Isolators targeted at the retail market.
