The aim of the July 25-August 2 programme, 'Badi Pilustuni' (call from the school), is to increase enrollment in schools for children in 6 to 14 age group and reduce dropout rate in the State, he said.
The event was launched at P G Government Boys School here.
Speaking on the occasion, Chinarajappa emphasised on the importance of education, saying it is necessary for all- round growth of society and its economic well-being.
To achieve cent per cent literacy rate, all parents should send their children to school, said the Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio.
The Government is taking necessary steps to provide adequate infrastructure facilities in schools, he added.
As many as 10,000 teacher posts are vacant and they will be shortly filled, he said.
