On getting information that a section of the school management buried rice for alleged monetary gains, police yesterday dug up the spot at the government-aided Bhola High School in Motibagh area here and seized ten buried sacks of 400 kgs rice worth Rs 12,000, meant for mid-day meal.
Following this, a case was registered last night against the school's headmistress, Kumudi Nandeshwar (56), for criminal breach of trust.
The rice was sent to the school by the government for their mid-day meal scheme.
However, Food and Civil Supplies officials, who visited the school, found nothing wrong with the stuff.
Offences under IPC sections 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant), 426 (mischief) 427 and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) have been registered against the headmistress and school management, police said, adding further investigation was on.
