School student dies after coconut tree falls on him

An 11-year-old boy was killed after a coconut tree fell on him while he was playing on the school premises at Meenchantha here today, police said.
Shajeel Ahmed, a student of class six of Meenchantha Government Upper Primary School, was playing with his classmate when the accident occurred, they said.
The tree fell on Shajeel's head and he died on the spot.
His friend has been hospitalised.
