School teacher arrested for misbehaving with girl student

A physical education teacher at a zilla parishad school was arrested today after he allegedly made objectionable remarks against a teenaged girl student, before being beaten up by locals for the act, the police said.
A Lepakshi mandal police sub-inspector said that based on a complaint by the 14-year-old girl studying in the ninth standard, school teacher Ramanjaneyalu allegedly misbehaved with her after holding her hand and told that she was beautiful and that he wanted to kiss her.
"Yesterday, the girl narrated the matter to her parents and later lodged a complaint. After learning about the incident, some locals beat up the school teacher today. Later, the police arrested him," the inspector said.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and further investigations are on, the police official said.
