The accused stopped the victim, Ram Gopal Shakya, who was riding a motorcycle and shoved him into a car at gunpoint in KunjpurKotwali Sakeet village yesterday and sped away, police said.
The kidnappers also took away the motorcycle, they said.
An FIR was lodged in the case as per the complaint by Shakya's family members.
Soon after the incident, the family members blocked theroute towards village Malawanin protest against the incident.
Expressing concern over the kidnapping, the teachers' organisationof the districthave threatened to stage protest.
Police teamshave been deployed to searchforthe teacher, Tripathi added.
