The series inspired by Wes Craven's slasher movie franchise will also have a new showrunner as Michael Gans and Richard Register are not returning for the third season, reported Aceshowbiz.
Gans and Register replaced original showrunners Jill Blotevogal and Jaime Paglia who stepped down after the first season. The replacement for season three has not been announced.
Details regarding the cast, production start date and the storyline are not available yet.
While waiting for the third season premiere in 2017, fans will be treated to a two-hour "Scream" Halloween special which airs Tuesday, October 18 on MTV.
