Scribe dies in road mishap

Veteran journalist and Kannada writer P Noor Muhammed died in a road mishap at his hometown Uppinangady near here last night.
He was 72 and is survived by wife, four sons and three daughters.
Muhammed was returning home on his two-wheeler after offering prayers at a nearby mosque when a lorry hit his two-wheeler and sped away. The journalist, who was seriously injured, died on the spot, police said.
Mohammed was the founder editor of 'Sanmarga' Weekly and has written several Islamic works in Kannada. He has also translated several Malayalam and Urdu works into Kannada.
