Security forces recover pressure improvised bomb in Sukma

Security forces today recovered a pressure improvised bomb, weighing five kg, planted by maoists, in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, police said.
The explosive, packed in a steel tiffin, was detected between Polampalli and Gorgunda villages along on Dornapal-Jagargunda road, a local police official told PTI.
Acting on specific inputs, a team of security forces was out on a search operation in Polampalli police station area (located around 450 kms away fromhere), he said.
Security forces spotted the pressure improvised explosive device (IED) connection between Polampalli and Gorgunda averting a major tragedy,he said.
The explosive was immediately destroyed by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), he said.
According to police, the 56-km long stretch from Dornapal (on NH 30) to Jagargunda, is one of the most sensitive areas in Bastar divisionwhere naxals have executed several major attacks on security forces.
In one of the major attacks in the recent past, on April 24 this year,25 CRPF personnel were killed in a maoist ambush in Chintagufa policestation area which falls on the same route.
Besides, security forces have also recovered IEDs of various nature from this route in the past, police added.
