The incident took place in Pathar mohalla in the afternoon, police said.
Lakhan Raghuwanshi allegedly shot dead his wife with his service rifle after returning home at around 3 pm.
He then shot Vikas Jain (22) and his brother Sanjay Jain (25), who shared the rented house with the couple, before shooting himself dead, said the district superintendent of police Santosh Singh Gaur.
What prompted him to commit the act was not yet known, Gaur said.
District collector B S Jamod announced ex-gratia of Rs one lakh each for the kin of the deceased persons. Police have sent the bodies for autopsy.
