Select base metals gain on persistent demand

Select base metals including copper, brass and nickel gained further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on sustained stockist buying amid persistent demand from industrial users.
While, lead and tin slipped owing to lower demand from alloy industries.
Nickel climbed by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 745 from Rs 730 last Thursday.
Copper sheet cuttings gained by Rs 13 per kg to 398 as against last Thursday's close of Rs 385 and copper armature rose by Rs 11 per kg to Rs 402 from Rs 391.
Copper cable scrap, copper utensils and copper billets were up by Rs 10 per kg each to Rs 430, Rs 380 and Rs 458 as compared to Rs 420, Rs 370 and Rs 448, respectively.
Copper scrap heavy moved up by Rs 8 per kg to Rs 421 as against Rs 413 previously and brass utensils scrap edged up by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 297 from 293.
Brass sheet cuttings inched up Rs 313.
However, tin declined by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,365 from previous close of Rs 1,375 and lead softened by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 155 from Rs 157.
