Select spices plunge on weak demand, ample stocks

Copra Rajapur prices dropped sharply at the spices market here today due to heavy stockists selling on the back of sluggish demand amid adequate supplies.
Elsewhere, copra edible slipped on reduced offtake by millers.
Black pepper and ginger also fell on poor export enquiries.
While, Copra Alapuzha and Copra Kozhikode maintained a steady trend in the absence of necessary buying support.
Copra Rajapur Mumbai tanked by Rs 1,000 per quintal to Rs 17,000 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 18,000 and copra edible Mumbai shed by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 13,500 as against Rs 13,600 previously.
Black pepper declined by Rs 15/10 per kilo to Rs 750/ 800 from Rs 765/810.
Ginger bleached and unbleached both declined by Rs 10 per kilo to Rs 330 and Rs 350, respectively, as compared to Rs 340 and Rs 360 yesterday.
