Selective about Bollywood songs: Zubeen Garg

Singer-composer Zubeen Garg, who is starring in Assamese film 'Rodor Chithi' with fellow musician Papon, says he has become selective about Bollywood assignments as he was getting similar songs post the success of 'Ya Ali'.
The 41-year-old singer, who made his debut in Bollywood singing with the 2006 song following a successful career in Assamese film industry, said he decided to take a break from took a small break from the Hindi film industry to avoid getting typecast.
"Bollywood music is changing with a slow pace. No doubt that new genres are coming to play but at the same time we are clinging to the formula of previous hit numbers.

"Even I was getting typecast after 'Ya Ali' in 2006, so I rejected many offers. I had a bad name in the industry for that. But I don't think about it because I am not in a hurry to take up projects," Zubeen told PTI.
Zubeen was last heard in Hrithik Roshan starrer 'Krrish 3'. The romantic number 'Dil tu hi bata' with Alisha Chinai became a chartbuster within a short period.
"When Rajesh sir (producer) approached me with the offer, we had no idea how would the song be like. He gave me full space to experiment. I had the script and situation with me and based on that we composed the song 'Dil tu hi bata'."

Talking about 'Rodor Chithi', Jubin said he has also composed the music of the film.
"I enjoy acting and did many films in the past. I did this film because Bahrul Islam (director) is a good friend of mine. The subject of the film is an intense one and deals with the importance of various relationships in our life," he said.
The film is expected to hit theatres in January.
