"The festival is aimed at establishing a deep cultural connect and understanding between the two countries. The festival will facilitate cultural exchange between Delhi and Seoul in an entertaining and interactive manner.

"Such formats are a great medium for the audiences of different countries to intermingle and strengthen their bond. We sincerely hope that this festival strikes the right chord," Seoul mayor Park Won-soon said.

Seoul, that has emerged as an attractive destination among Indians, recorded 152,811 Indian tourists in 2016, which is expected to increase in the near future.

"Seoul has emerged to become an international tourist destination. It's a 24-hour city, with the right mix of nightlife, modern infrastructure, connectivity and religion offering travellers diversity in entertainment, heritage, art and culture," the mayor said.
